Association of Digital Finance Practitioners, Zambia
Chilekwa Banda, a seasoned Zambian digital financial professional and chairperson of the Association for Digital Finance Practitioners in Zambia, has been nominated as the Vice President, Southern Africa, of the board. With 16 years of industry experience, she has become a subject matter expert in this rapidly growing field.
Chilekwa, a creative individual with a keen interest in technology has had an interesting career journey, having worked in various organizations and through these experiences, she has gained a deep understanding of the different facets of digital financial services. Her background in fintech, digital payments, mobile money markets, product management, bill payments, business development, strategic partnerships, field research, digital banking, money transfers and international remittances, among others, has made her a well-rounded professional in this field.
At different points in her career, she has served as the Head of Digital Banking support, Head of Strategic Partnerships, and Country Head of Operations. She is also a Board member of the Africa Fintech Network, and is an active member of organizations such as Women in Technology Network, ICT Association of Zambia, and Global Fintech Forum , where she has shared her knowledge and expertise with other professionals in the industry.
One of her primary passions is advocating for fintech solutions, this has seen her sharing her insights and experiences at global summits, fintech festivals and conferences. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for greater inclusion in the tech space, and her efforts to create opportunities for women in tech have not gone unnoticed. She has been recognized as a mentor, under the SC Women In Tech program cohort 3 and EAfrica Expo Women in E-commerce in 2022.
Chilekwa is an experienced leader who knows how to bring people together to solve complex problems and always seeks ways to improve and innovate in the industry.
